” The first punk synth, loud and raucous ” – Willi M, Londonbeat

Description : At Roth Händle a lot of different keyboards and equipment has passed by through the years depending on who's been recording at the time. Pretty early on Anders Wilhelm moved and dropped off two amazing synths at he studio to keep them in a dust free environment as he was sorting or rebuilding stuff at home. The two synths were the Korg Polysix and The Roland Vocoder Plus.

At the same time I borroughed a Roland Juno 60 and a Yamaha CS-60, as I was about to record with Ludvig Andersson. I had a vision that his music would benefit from lush analogue polyphonic pad sounds. But it didn't really work out. I am apparently not a big fan of polyphonic analogue synths with the Yamaha GX-1 being the only exception. I tried them all out and spent a lot of time with trying to find a good musical place for them but…nope.

When Änglagård started playing Tord had a Mono/poly and a Polysix. We used the Mono/poly as a Mini Moog clone but the Polysix didn't show up on anything. And I think the Polysix is probably an amazing keyboard in somebody elses hands but I can't really make it work for me.

The only part of the synth that I have ever used to any decent effect is the arpeggiator. The cool thing about is that you can set it very fast and then set the sustain very long so that instead of getting blippy rhythmic runs you can get very organic sounding slow pulsating ambient stuff…We used that throughout the track Shangri-La. I have also used some bell like textures on some Molesome stuff.
