Keys : 32 ( F- C ) Production period : 1978 - 1980 Quantity produced : 10 000 This is one of the simplest most rudimentary keyboards in the Studio. One would think that this would be limiting but on the contrary…This is one of the keyboards that I use the most. There is only one Oscillator and four waveforms. It is very simple to use and has a great basic sound. You can go from pop-corn to swaying operatic theremin sounds in no time….One of my favourite features is the filter because you can patch stuff through it which I have used extensively on Akaba's, Clockworks and Nanook's recordings. You can also set the filter to open and close in an autowah way which is very effective on for instance baritone guitars. Just using the filter as it is, is wonderful for drum machines and simpler keyboard treatments. The MS-10 is the smallest building block in a system of keyboards where the big brother is MS-20 with it's legendary filter and the extension module MS-50 and then a sequencer. If you are interested in getting into vintage keyboards and you don't want to spend a complete fortune on a Mini-moog or an Arp, why not look around for the MS-10? Really good, solid analog sounds to an affordable price. Did I go all brochure like there for a while? Just checking.
