| Kit le Fever Line up :
Recordings : Description : My old location was quite small with only one room and a bathroom and it was sometimes difficult to fit all six members all the time but we managed somehow…
I really became became engulfed in Kit le fevers music. The songwriting is big but with great attention to detail. Also Mattias Hallbom is one of those singers who you immediately trust and want to hear more from. Another interesting detail is that the keyboard Gustav Frykholm played only some piano and some organ froma Roland synth I think. That was about to change. But his piano playing is very subtle and strong and brings a different texture all together to the band.
The first three songs we recorded were Soldier Blue, Marvin and a song with swedish lyrics Impulser. Soldier Blue was pretty interesting to record with a lot of experimentation going on soundwise. Marvin a påretty straight forward rocktrack but with a nervy twitchy rhythm part and finally the slow emotional ” big one ” impulser. Soldier Blue became a very interesting song for me to work on. We used the Mellotron quite a lot but also utilized the SK-5…sampling different types of voices. Also Mattias Hallbom really shined on these songs vocally. Marvin was a first take, Soldier Blue second take and Impulser ( well…a couple more but still very impressive )
The second time around was in the new location and here the band really settled in. The band was backed by a publishing company so there was a real feeling of energy in the air. Again we recorded three songs. This time around caution was completely thrown to the wind and we just exploded idea wise…There are so much stuff recorded onto these three tracks. All of it wasn´t used but if there ever will be a box set or weird B-side moment there are a lot of sounds to choose from for an eventual remix.
This became a real challenge to me while mixing as well…On some of the songs I used three DPS-12s and DPS 16 just to get all the tracks on to faders.
I really really like Kit le Fever, they are a really great band and really nice people too. Sadly enough they have now taken a break to try to figure how to move on. I think the horror of the rehearsal room has claimed another victim. So we will have to wait and see…
I will have to check with the band it would be great to put the songs up on the webpage for you to hear. Eating habits :
